Guiding each child to reach their full potential.
A bilingual, family-run daycare in Côte Saint-Luc, a warm second home for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Welcome to the Garderie Sésame family.
Our mission is to offer exceptional services to the children entrusted in our care. We believe in a bilingual program touching areas of development: social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional.
Whether your child is very active or shy, we design opportunities that work best for them. Choosing a preschool is a big decision, that's why we provide warm, caring service in a stimulating environment with an incredible educational program.

Founded in 2012 by Michael Gurman.
Hello parents of wonderful children. Garderie Sésame is a high-quality daycare center for families residing in Côte Saint-Luc, Montréal West, Hampstead and NDG.
Michael Gurman graduated from the John Molson School of Business with distinction and went on to become the director for the Donald Berman Yaldei Developmental Centre for children with special needs. Working with children brought great joy to Michael's life and inspired him to open his own daycare.
Michael believed a classroom should be spacious, with light warm colours, and have ample amounts of toys for kids to play with. He believed in hiring qualified educators with a passion for lesson planning, and in maintaining positive relationships through appreciation and recognition. Sésame boasts very little staff turn-over because of it.
It took several years for Michael to find the perfect location for his dream daycare. Sésame sits on the second floor at 5555 Westminster, with a large parking lot and easy access to the 103 and 164 bus stops on Côte Saint-Luc Road. The daycare is centered between two large parks the children have named the “Sand Park” (Donald Fletcher) and the “Train Park” (Richard Schwartz).
At Sésame we believe in developing personal relationships and trust with families who need a place where they know their children will be safe and well cared for. Please join our family and feel comfort that your child is receiving the best possible care in a stimulating environment we are proud to call your child's second home.
Areas of development, woven into every day.
We believe in a bilingual program that touches the areas a child grows in. The day is designed to gently move between each, through play, story, song, snack, and rest. Our approach follows Québec's educational program, Accueillir la petite enfance.
Physical & motor
Gross and fine motor play, outdoor time at the Sand Park and Train Park, healthy meals and restful naps.
Social & emotional
Sharing, taking turns, naming feelings, warm one-on-one relationships, and the everyday choreography of being together.
Language
Bilingual story-time, songs, vocabulary, and early literacy in both French and English.
Cognitive
Numbers, letters, puzzles, problem-solving, and curious exploration of how the world works.
A partnership with parents
A relationship of mutual trust between our team and your family is essential to your child's harmonious development.
Children learn through play
Play is how children learn. We help each child draw the full benefit from the play they choose to initiate.
The child leads
Children reach their potential when they are the main actors, starting play, making suggestions, taking part in decisions.
Every child is unique
We get to know each child deeply, and respect their nature, their pace, their interests and their needs.
Two progress reports a year.
Twice a year we build a developmental portrait of every child and hand families a written progress report, by December 15 and June 15, whatever the age group. It follows the Ministère de la Famille framework, Accueillir la petite enfance, and helps parents and educators focus together on what comes next.
